Hello everyone!
We’re slowly leaving winter behind us and the sun is making more frequent appearances. And now that spring has arrived, we think it’s a great time to reflect this in the gym too. As well as enjoying fun and intensive group workouts, we’ll also be focusing on finding peace and balance during this season of renewal, growth and blossoming. To help you get off to a good start this spring, we’re therefore offering a range of yoga classes and a mindfulness course.

In addition, a mindfulness course is also on offer, providing useful tools to help you live life to the full and not get bogged down by the difficult situations you’ll inevitably face.

Registration is now closed.

MEMBERS’ INTERVIEW!
Title: For me, Taus Gym is … an outlet for burning off energy / a different way of exercising than simply going to the gym. You don’t really have to think twice about going to the gym.
Name: Lissa van Beerendonk
Age: 19
Member since: February 2019
Which classes do you attend: Krav Maga
- What do you do in your day-to-day life?
I studied Applied Photography and Visual Communication at the University of Photography in Rotterdam. I recently stopped studying so that I could apply for a job with the police. I also work at the ’t’ Kuiltje pet hotel in Udenhout, where I can channel my passion for animals. I also spend a lot of time with friends and get to know lots of new people through my work, volunteering and, for example, when I’m out and about.
- Where does your interest in sport come from?
I’m a very energetic person and I don’t like sitting still. I prefer to be busy all day doing all sorts of things, and I like feeling good about myself.
- What sort of sports have you played?
Well, actually… I’ve done horse riding, boxing, taekwondo, judo, badminton, competitive swimming, volleyball and gymnastics. At the moment, I just go to the gym (about 5 hours a week), do Zumba (2 hours a week) and practise Krav Maga whenever I can.
- What do you look for in a sport?
Above all, an outlet. I mainly want to be able to channel my energy into it.
- What does sport mean to you, both physically and mentally?
Physically, it’s mainly a way to burn off energy and keep my body fit. Mentally, outside the gym, I often look for sports that challenge me in ways I wouldn’t normally do. Variety and stimulation.
- What was your first experience of Krav Maga?
A trial class via Facebook. At first, I thought it would be fun to join in for a class and didn’t expect I’d end up doing it regularly. But I enjoyed it so much and found exactly what I was looking for (variety and stimulation) that I did end up doing it.
- Why did you choose TG?
Because it’s sociable, fun and a great way to let off steam.
- What are your fitness goals at TG?
Have fun.
- What goals have you already achieved at TG?
Get fitter, have fun and build up your fitness.
- What was the most memorable experience you’ve had at TG?
You very quickly feel at ease with the other members. Sometimes you have to practise quite “intimately” and close together, and that feels very familiar.
- How do you balance exercise with your work and social life?
Personally, I prioritise work and organise my social life around it, which is easy enough. In my spare time, I go to the gym.
- Do you have any fitness and/or health tips that have worked for you and that you’d like to share with the other members?
Find what works for you! No two bodies or lifestyles are the same, and there’s no single diet or workout that works for everyone. Listen to your body and you’ll reach your goals faster and in a healthier way.
