Krav Maga: Winter outdoor training

This coming winter, we’ll be running not one, but four days of outdoor winter training. From 12 to 15 December, we’ll be focusing on outdoor exercise. This means that all our Krav Maga classes in Tilburg and Breda – for adults, teenagers and children – will take place after dark. To make the training as realistic as possible, please bring your everyday clothes and footwear. We recommend wearing several layers so that you can easily put things on and take them off.

Just to be on the safe side, do bring your usual trainers and sportswear as well, because if the weather turns bad, we’ll of course just train indoors.

The meeting point is the usual training venue. We hope to see everyone at these special training sessions!

Holiday timetable

A revised timetable will come into effect during the autumn and Christmas holidays. You can find this revised timetable in our calendar. Don’t forget to check when lessons are held during the holidays.

Digestive problems associated with exercise

Getting enough exercise is important for healthy bowel function. It stimulates blood circulation and the peristaltic movements of your bowels. It helps prevent constipation and reduces the risk of bowel cancer.

Nevertheless, you may experience gastrointestinal symptoms during intense exercise. These can include heartburn, diarrhoea, bloating, flatulence, nausea or stomach cramps. This can be a particular problem during long training sessions. Possible causes include mechanical jolts during exercise, a temporary reduction in blood flow, hormonal factors and diet.

Do you ever suffer from gastrointestinal problems during and after exercise? If so, try the following tips:

  • Have a large meal 2–3 hours before exercising. If you’re still hungry just before exercising, have a small snack, such as fruit, a cracker or a slice of bread.
  • Avoid eating a meal high in fat, protein and dietary fibre before exercising. These nutrients take longer to digest.
  • Do not drink fizzy drinks before exercising.
  • If you regularly experience gastrointestinal symptoms: avoid foods that cause flatulence, such as onions, beans and cabbage.
  • Do not consume caffeine before exercising.

Do you often suffer from gastrointestinal problems and would you like to do something about them? Book an appointment at Gewoon Diëtetiek. Together, we’ll investigate the cause of these symptoms and find a suitable solution. Under your basic health insurance, you’re entitled to 3 hours of nutritional guidance from a dietitian. Please note that an excess applies. Do you have supplementary insurance? If so, you’re often entitled to extra hours.
