Happy New Year! We hope you had a lovely Christmas break and are fully rested and ready to get back to exercising. The start of the new year is a great time to learn new things. To make sure we get off to a good start this year, we’ve put together a summary of what you need to know about the upcoming sports season! In this newsletter, you’ll find information about your IKMF registration, the exams and preparations, the Women Only Krav Maga course, the extra class in Breda, the open classes and training equipment!

Your IKMF registration
From this year onwards, young people and children must also be registered with the IKMF.
An IKMF membership is required, amongst other things, to sit your Krav Maga exam. Membership costs €10 per year and ensures that we and the federation can guarantee high-quality lessons. You can here Find out more about membership and registration with the IKMF.
Have you not yet registered with the IKMF, but have already signed up for the exam? If so, please make sure you take out a membership as soon as possible. You must be a member of the IKMF to be allowed to sit the exam.
Please note! If you stop practising Krav Maga with us, you must also deregister with the IKMF.
Exams and preparation
Would you like to take your skills to the next level this year? You can! There’ll be another round of exams coming up soon, giving you the chance to show what you’re capable of. Would you like to register for the exam? You can do so via the contact form!
Would you like to practise a bit before taking your exam? We offer curriculum training sessions where we go through all the techniques together. You must also take the pre-test before your exam. During the pre-test, we’ll go through everything you’ll need to do during your exam. That way, you can sit the exam with confidence! The dates for the curriculum training and pre-test are listed under the exam dates.

Women-Only Krav Maga Course
Did you know that from the age of 14e Are you ready to join the Women Only Krav Maga course? Self-defence can sometimes be quite nerve-wracking. Women also often face violence in different ways to men. That’s why, on the Women Only Krav Maga course, alongside other strong girls and women, you’ll learn how best to defend yourself in threatening situations you might encounter on the street. The course offers you a safe environment in which you can learn to defend yourself and work on building greater self-confidence.
Would you rather not take part on your own? You can take part with your mum too! Mums and daughters have taken part together on several occasions before, and it’s always been a great success.
Are you not quite 14 yet, but would you like to take part? Why not come along for a taster lesson, so we can see if the course is right for you. You can sign up for a taster lesson here Let's do it!
The course lasts nine weeks, from 23 January to 28 March 2023. Lessons take place on Mondays from 8.15 pm to 9.15 pm. Are you interested in the course? Then sign up for a trial lesson.

New class for young people in Breda
Attention, young people in Breda! Due to the huge success of the youth classes, we’re adding a new training day each week! From 12 January, you can also come and train in Breda on Thursday evenings at 5.30 pm. This new session is for the 12 to 16-year-old group.
Are you happy with training just once a week? That’s possible with the basic membership. This allows you to come and train once a week. You can choose which day you come and whether you want to train in Tilburg or Breda!
Would you like to come and work out more often? For an extra 9,- a month, you can train as often as you like, wherever you like! You can change your membership by email or via the contact form!

Open classes
Have you always wanted to show your friends, nieces, nephews, brothers or sisters what you get up to in class? You’ll soon be able to! In week four, you’ll get the chance to show exactly what we do during our classes. Monday 23 January, Tuesday 24 January, Wednesday 25 January and Thursday 26 January will be all about getting to know Krav Maga and training together.
Do you know anyone who’s curious about Krav Maga? Invite them to come along for a free trial lesson. All you need are clean indoor trainers, sportswear and a positive attitude! Have you already decided who you’d like to bring along? Then make sure they sign up for the trial lesson form Fill in!
Shin guards
Have you passed your K1 or J1 exam? If so, we’ll start practising the techniques for the next exam in class. For K2 and J2, we’ll be practising, amongst other things, defences against kicks. That’s why it’s compulsory to wear proper shin guards for training. These mustn’t be hard football shin guards, but flexible ones made of foam. That way, both you and your training partner can train comfortably!
Don’t have any shin guards yet? Then pop over to one of the instructors before the lesson to ask about the options.
The official Taus Gym jacket
Have you seen our Taus Gym cardigan yet? Our members love it. It’s a lovely, warm cardigan, perfect for the cold winter. That way, you can start your class nice and warm.
Would you like to try it on first? You can! Just ask before the class if you can have a go. Then you can see for yourself how comfortable it is. The cardigan costs 55,- and is available in sizes XXS to XXL! Let us know quickly if you’d like one, before they sell out in your size.
