CHILDREN’S AND YOUTH CLASSES ARE BACK ON!

Just like you, we’re looking forward to a lovely – but above all, healthy – summer. We’re therefore incredibly grateful that, with your support, we’re still able to work towards promoting our members’ wellbeing. The online classes have proved a success, and we hope to be able to offer you plenty of guidance on leading a healthy lifestyle. Thanks to recent developments regarding the coronavirus, we’re delighted to announce that we’re able to resume our Kids & Youth Krav Maga classes!

START KRAV MAGA FOR CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE

On 21 March, the government announced that it would be easing the measures relating to the coronavirus. This means that we will soon be able to hold Kids Krav Maga classes again! Naturally, we can’t wait to welcome our youngest members back. From 4 May, they will once again be very welcome at Taus Gym!

To ensure everyone’s health and safety, we will be implementing certain measures. The lessons will, of course, be conducted in full compliance with the guidelines issued by the government and the RIVM. This means:;

  • Let’s go and exercise outdoors! The sun is shining and the temperatures are lovely. In Tilburg, we’ll be holding the classes on the square in front of the gym, and in Breda, the classes will take place on the playground at the nursery, next to the gym.
  • Children up to the age of 12 are permitted to have physical contact with one another. Exercises can therefore be carried out without any problems. Physical contact between pupils and instructors is not permitted.
  • Young Krav Maga practitioners aged 18 and under must maintain a distance of at least 1.5 metres from one another. We will be conducting dry drills, theory sessions and Krav Maga workouts in this way.
  • It is not possible to use the facilities inside the gym. This means that you must go to the toilet at home before training and you cannot use the showers either. The changing rooms and the lounge are also off-limits to members. Parents should also have discussed these rules with their children before the training session.
  • Only members are permitted to be present during on-site classes. This means that you are not allowed to stay and watch if you are not taking part. Parents may drop off their children at the gates of both venues (Tilburg and Breda) no more than 10 minutes before the start of the class, but must then return to their own car. Once the class has finished, they must also return home immediately. Parents must collect their children within 10 minutes of the class ending.
  • All children and young people must sanitise their hands before the session begins.
  • Where possible, an additional instructor will be present. As always, a first-aider and a first-aid kit will also be on hand at all times.
  • If stormy weather is forecast, the class will be cancelled. You will be notified of this by email or WhatsApp. In the event of light rain, we will carry on with the session.
  • We can only ensure everyone’s health and safety with your help. This means that if a member has (mild) symptoms, we expect that member to stay at home. These include a cold, a cough, shortness of breath and/or a fever. Members must also stay at home if anyone in the same household is showing these symptoms. Only once everyone in the household has been symptom-free for 24 hours may the member return to training sessions. Has anyone in your household tested positive for COVID-19? In that case, you may only return to training sessions once you have had no contact with that person for 14 days.

Please ensure that participants wear outdoor sports shoes rather than their usual indoor sports shoes. They should also bring their usual equipment. We ask parents to go through the above rules with their children so that they are aware of the measures we need to take. We will also be using the following lesson times:;

Tilburg

  • Kids’ Krav Maga: Mondays 6.30 pm – 7.15 pm
  • Kids’ Krav Maga: Tuesday 6.30 pm – 7.15 pm
  • Youth Krav Maga Thursdays 5.30 pm – 6.15 pm

Breda

  • Kids’ Krav Maga: Mondays 6.15 pm – 7.00 pm

Unfortunately, the Thursday classes in Tilburg are being cancelled permanently. If there is more interest in them in the future, we will restart them.

From May, the usual membership fee terms and conditions for children’s classes will apply once again.

We are really looking forward to welcoming some of our members back! If you have any questions, please do email us at [email protected].
