We’re already in the final quarter of 2021. Taus Gym has seen many developments this year, and we’re still working hard to ensure we continue to offer you the very best. In this newsletter, we’ll be discussing the New grappling class, changes to membership, the new FIT Circuit class, upcoming curriculum training sessions, pre-tests and exams, holiday timetables and the end-of-year drinks party! We’d also like to thank Paul in this newsletter for his contribution to the kids’ Krav Maga classes.
NEW: GRAPPLING LESSON
Grappling is one of our members’ favourite disciplines. Grappling is a martial art in which you learn how to subdue your opponent by applying takedowns and submissions. This martial art is relatively very safe, as the techniques involved focus on control. What’s more, you can set your own limits at any time by tapping out. Grappling helps you work on your flexibility, stamina, strength and coordination. It also gives you a sense of control and security. Grappling is therefore a huge boost for both your body and mind! It will teach you how to deal with challenging situations from which you want to extricate yourself safely and quickly.
The grappling class begins with a taster session. This means that, from Saturday 16 October until 16 February, there will be a class every Saturday in Tilburg from 10.30 to 11.30. As the grappling class is a new type of training, your membership will need to be updated accordingly. Read more here here more about.
The grappling class is taught by Marcel de Groot. He has many years’ competitive experience in grappling. Read here Find out more about Marcel!
CHANGES TO MEMBERSHIP
In order to continue running our gym smoothly, we need to adjust membership fees from time to time. We do this not only because of inflation and rising costs, but also because we want to – and are able to – offer you an ever-wider range of services and higher quality.
The new membership fees will apply to current members from 1 January 2022. For members with a multi-year membership, the new membership fees will only apply once their multi-year membership has expired. If you do not yet have a multi-year membership and would like to continue using the current rates after 1 January 2022, as well as receive a discount on your membership, you can upgrade your membership to a multi-year membership until 1 December 2021. Click here to update your membership.
Take a look here for the new membership fees!
NEW FIT CIRCUIT CLASS
On Saturdays, we’re not only offering the new grappling class, but also a new FIT circuit class. This will take place from 09:30 to 10:15. With a basic membership, you can come and work out once a week, and you can choose which day that is. With an all-in membership, you can choose from all the FIT classes, but don’t forget to take a day off now and then to allow your body to recover. 😉
KRAV MAGA TRAINING CURRICULUM
We’ve now completed our first curriculum training sessions for young people and adults. These additional training sessions were well received by the members who attended. By covering all the techniques for your level one after the other in a single day, you get a good idea of what the exam involves and you also get more into the Krav Maga flow. This helps you improve your skills quickly!
You can find the new dates for the upcoming curriculum training at this page.
KRAV MAGA PRE-TEST
During the Krav Maga pre-tests, members can prepare for the exams. After the pre-tests, you’ll receive personalised feedback and find out whether you’re ready for the exams. Read here more about the pre-tests.

FAREWELL TO CHILDREN’S INSTRUCTOR PAUL

As of Tuesday 19 October, Paul will be stepping down from teaching the children’s Krav Maga classes. We are incredibly grateful to Paul for the enjoyable lessons and wonderful times he has provided. We won’t easily forget his contribution to boosting the children’s self-defence skills at Taus Gym. Thank you for everything, Paul! You’ll of course see Paul again as a keen Krav Maga practitioner, and the children may well see him again when they move up to the adult classes.
REVISED TIMETABLE FOR THE AUTUMN HOLIDAYS AND THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS
During the holidays, we follow the holiday timetable for sports. Please check the calendar to see what that means for you!
END-OF-YEAR DRINKS RECEPTION
It’s almost that time of year again; we’re already in the final quarter of the year, and we’ll of course be rounding it off with a festive end-of-year drinks party! Over a drink, we’ll enjoy each other’s company and look back on the past year.
To celebrate our 10th anniversary, we’re treating you all – there’s no charge! The end-of-year drinks party will take place on Friday 17 December, from 7.00 pm. Please let us know if you’re coming via the contact form. Please note: this is a members-only event.
