Night Against Sexual Violence

Sexual violence is a serious reality that takes many different forms, ranging from unwanted behaviour and harassment to (physical) abuse. Worldwide, 1 in 3 women experience some form of sexual violence.
On the night of 17 to 18 May 2025 Plan International is organising the Night Against Sexual Violence for the third time.

During this national event, participants will walk 20 kilometres through Rotterdam to raise awareness of the impact of street harassment and sexual violence.

Under the motto ‘Everyone deserves to be able to walk the streets safely’, we are working towards a world in which everyone feels respected, safe and heard.

We invite everyone to join us on this walk and help bring about positive change in our society.

Are you aged 18 or over and would you like to join ? Sign up by sending an email to Louise (stayaway@ikmf.nl). She is the coordinator of the women’s division in the Netherlands and leads the team that will be representing the IKMF.

24H Meet the Marines Experience

The 24H Meet The Marines Experience is coming up again. In May, the Taus Gym team will once again take on this challenge, just as they have in previous years. For 24 hours, they will be challenged together to get the very best out of themselves and each other.
This unique event is not only designed to push physical boundaries, but also to strengthen mental resilience, teamwork and perseverance.

‘Meet the Marines’ is a fantastic challenge to work towards, and here at Taus Gym we also offer preparatory training sessions to give everyone the chance to take part.

Would you like to take part? Please let us know if you’re interested via the contact form.

We practise scenarios such as walking down the street in the dark in freezing temperatures, or navigating your way through a packed bar or party to get yourself to safety – all whilst wearing your everyday clothes.

So please make sure you bring your usual clothes with you. We also recommend dressing in layers so that you can put things on or take them off quickly and easily.

Pumpkin soup

When it gets colder outside, it’s nice to have a lovely, warming recipe up your sleeve. This pumpkin soup is tasty, easy to make and nutritious. The lima beans provide extra protein and make the soup really filling.

What you’ll need:
 Hand blender

Ingredients:
 1 leek
 1 (bottle) pumpkin
 2 tablespoons of olive oil
 1 tablespoon of curry powder
 1 tin of lima beans (400 g)
 1 litre of vegetable stock
 200 ml coconut milk

Method:
 Cut the leeks into rings. Wash them thoroughly to remove any soil.
 Cut the pumpkin in half and remove the seeds and stringy flesh with a spoon. Leave the skin on. Cut the pumpkin into large chunks.
 Heat the olive oil in a soup pan and fry the curry powder for 30 seconds over a medium heat. Then add the leek and diced pumpkin and fry for 5 minutes. Stir regularly.
 Drain the lima beans and rinse them under running water. Fry them for a further minute with the leek and pumpkin.
 Add the vegetable stock. Bring to the boil and simmer gently for 15 minutes. Check whether the pumpkin is cooked by pricking it with a fork.
 Blend the soup with a hand blender.
 Add the coconut milk and give it another good stir.
Enjoy your meal!
