What you’ll learn

  • Realistic and technical training on the ground
  • Submissions, escapes, control, takedowns and reversals
  • No ground-and-pound, no blows to the head
  • Ideal for both beginners and advanced learners
  • Suitable for Krav Maga, MMA or as a sport in its own right
  • Opportunity to take part in competitions with our team

Grappling isn’t about beating someone else, but about growing together. That’s why so many martial artists find it an indispensable addition to their training.

Physical and mental development

Grappling challenges you in every way. You’ll work on:

  • Stamina
  • Flexibility
  • Coordination
  • Strength
  • Speed
  • Strategic thinking and self-control
  • Safe training, lots of fun

As we don’t bump into or kick each other during training, you can focus fully on technique, speed and the art of the fight. It’s physically intense, challenging and highly rewarding. You stay mentally sharp, are constantly learning and build a strong foundation for any form of martial art or self-defence.

Grappling (No Gi) Equipment

Our grappling classes are No Gi. That means: no traditional BJJ gi, but functional sportswear that allows you to move freely and maintain a firm grip on yourself and your training partner.

For a trial lesson, standard sportswear is fine – think of a fitted sports top and sports shorts or trousers without zips or buttons.

Hygiene

Hygiene is important to us. We expect you to arrive at the class feeling fresh and having had a shower. After the session, we clean the mats together. In this way, we work together to ensure a safe and pleasant training environment for everyone.

What do you need?

  • Rashguard (close-fitting sports top)
  • MMA shorts or sports trousers without any hard parts
  • Mouthguard (dental protector)
  • Toque (crotch guard)
  • A bottle of water
  • Towel

Purchase of materials

Equipment such as mouthguards and caps is available on site. Please feel free to ask the instructor for advice; we’ll be happy to help you get started with high-quality gear that’s suitable for this sport.
